      For the price (during a discount time) this projector is exceptional. Everything about it is so simple.
      I wanted it for movie nights when my granddaughter stays over and it is perfect.
      It connects to just about anything. I use a 500GB hard drive with some movies as well as an Amazon fire stick for streaming Apps and it it works so well. I also tested casting from my phone and this also worked well.
      The image is great (but obviously not mind blowing) and the sound is more than ample. I was going to connect a Bluetooth speaker but found this wasn't really necessary.
      The electronic focus and keystone correction work and you end up with a pretty good image on anything. I slung a sheet over the curtains and it worked fine. It would obviously improve on a dedicated projector screen.
      For the price you are getting an awful lot for your money and we are all very happy with it.

      This projector is great and would really be 5* - not too loud, great picture, perfect for movie nights. Easy to set up.

      I have knocked a star off, however, as it appears that the product has changed and the reviews do not match the current product, which is a bit of a cheat. There were a lot of comments about the apps on the projector - there are no apps. This is a HDMI connection or connect to source machine. I bought this one specifically because I thought there were apps pre-loaded as per the reviews. So I then had to spend more money on a fire stick.

      Yes, I should have paid more attention to the description and looked into it fully, but changing the product and relying on reviews for a different product somehow also feels a bit wrong. Just wanted to give a heads up to other people that if you’re wanting smart tv apps pre-installed, this is not the one for you.

      Otherwise, as mentioned, great projector!

      Made by Himovies, this projector is a great value and projects an image that is very pleasing, for watching movies indoors and also at the cottage on summer nights. The unit includes Netflix and YouTube built-in, which makes it very easy to start watching movies, TV shows and content right away. (For Netflix, you do need to have an account that you currently pay for, and you sign in on this projector)

      This projector is easy to set up, includes Bluetooth connectivity 5G/2.4G dual-band WiFi. The unit has a good sounding speaker system as well, so I plug it in, connect to my media, and it is all ready to go. There are a number of connections as well, including HDMI, AV connections, 2 USB ports, and also a 3.5mm headphone jack, so this really is an all in one unit.

      I have an older projector that I have enjoyed over the years, and this Himovies projector is so much better in so many ways, especially the picture quality, and modern features, and weighing so much less. This is a solid projector at a good price. 5 stars.

      This projector wants to collect data for some reason. For us that is a no go, which is the reason why we can't use any of the built in apps because we don't want to connect it to the internet. It's a shame because this is otherwise a pretty solid device at this price point.
      The device itself is pretty good. We found it could project on a variety of surfaces and distances with no problems. It worked on a basement wall that was 20 feet away and also on the provided screen from 6 feet away. The further the screen the darker the room needs to be, but we found that when used outside from 6 feet away the image was visible enough to start a movie when projected onto a screen at dusk, although waiting 30 mins or so after the sun has set will make the image much more visible. We found that the resolution was more than good enough in this setup as well.
      The stand is a little wobbly and you do get some shaking of the device when people bump the power cord or put a drink down on the table where the projector is sitting. There doesn't appear to be any anti-wobble tech in place. When the device settles down it does end up pointing back in the same place so it isn't that much of an issue. The provide power cord is a little short - you will likely need an extension cord.
      The device has a really cool auto-setup feature that sets the focus, zoom, and angle adjustment. It does require a dark environment for it to work reliably all the way through the process, but we found that even in a bright room the auto-focus (which is the first step) usually worked. Even if the other steps fail, having the device focuses is enough to be able to access the menus and manually set the zoom and angle adjustment. You do need the auto-focus to work, because there is no manual focus knob on the device anywhere, and if you can't get it to focus you can't work the menus.
      One thing that would have been nice would have been buttons on the remote to start the focus process. The device does it by default when you power it on and when you make a significant adjustment to the angle/position of the device, but a button to trigger it makes more sense. I would have also liked to see a means of using the projector without the remote via a small set of buttons on the projector itself - even just a source selection button and maybe volume controls.
      The projector comes with a neat fabric screen. The material is nice and thick, it has a black border, and it has grommets at the corners and middle so that you can easily hang it. It even comes with a piece of paracord and some stick-on hooks for helping to hang it! The grommets are great, we used them to hang the screen on the hooks that are normally used for the bug netting on our outdoor gazebo.
      There is a fan but it doesn't make a lot of noise. We found that the audio playing from the device easily covered what noise the fan made. The device does heat up but never to the point where we felt it was in any danger. We gave it a good test by letting it run for over 4 hours and the temperature gauge never budged above 50 degrees C.
      As mentioned above, we didn't really try the built in apps (netflix, youtube, and prime being the only three we would consider using) because the device insists on collecting data for reasons it never really explains. Why does a projector need to gather data and report it back to the manufacturer? We do know that if you are brave enough to connect the device to the internet and go to the appstore, disney+ is not currently available to download and install, which is a major bummer!

      It won't beat a laser DLP, but in the under 200$ range, this is the best I have tested.

      To test projectors, I got a presentation with an HD test screen which includes some spots with known number of pixels and focus area in all corner. The result is one of the best I have seen.

      The resolution is FHD, I can see all the 6 pixels, while some fake HD show only 3-4. The optic is above average and the pixels are really well-defined.

      I had to activate PC mode to get the full screen; otherwise it was cropped.

      The autofocus was sharp, and all focus was good, including 4 corners and the centre. Even with an image above the projector, it was excellent, and this is something most entry-level projectors struggle with. Since you don't want the projector blocking the view, this is something important

      Light uniformity is OK, not the best, but not the worst either, it gets darker in the corners, about 40% drop in intensity. The intensity will be ok for movies at night, or small presentation during the day, but we are not in the 3000 lumen here, it is more in the 300-500 lumen

      The intensity is a little above average, and the required power is in the 80W range, slightly higher than other projectors.

      Once connected it is detected as an HDMI device and if connected to a computer it may looks present as an extra screen even if powered off or on other function, as Netflix

      This is really meant to be portable, you place it and it auto-adjust, you even have a shortcut button to flip and mirror the screen. I must admit that navigating though menus with a screen reversed is not the funniest part, thus for temporary setup, this is great.

      There are some limitations. There is only one HDMI input and no optical out, only analog audio out, but Bluetooth is supported. Not ETL/UL as required by Canadian Electrical Code, but at least it is PSE, which is Japan equivalent, if this is true, of course. The store is backed by NetRange, which provides a mixture of APK and online content, while the store is good, you may not find as many apps as on a Google TV or Fire TV and I did not see an option to sideload apps. I did not see any option for tripod mounts; thus you need to place it on a table, install a shelf or make some bracket to install it on the ceiling, once installed, it has all the required flip options, even for back projection.

      I recently had the chance to use a modern portable projector for the first time and was impressed with its capabilities, especially considering the size and cost. I’ve learned that they are great as a secondary tv or as a portable movie theatre, so when I saw this Himovies projector I had to give it a try. It’s a bit larger than I was expecting, but the size means a brighter image and decent sound, so will serve well as a means of sharing movies with a large group of people or simply displaying movies/images on a large screen.

      The package includes the projector, a power cord, a remote control (you need to supply the batteries), an HDMI cable, a mini-jack to RCA cable, a large fabric screen with ties, a cleaning tool, and an instructions booklet. The projector only has an on/off button as all the controls are done through the remote, so you want to be sure you always have some spare batteries so you can control the device. You can connect devices to the projector as it has headphone, AV, HDMI, and two USB-C ports.

      Setup is fairly straightforward, if not a bit tedious with the remote. The projector does enable Bluetooth connections so I’m guessing you could connect a Bluetooth enabled keyboard to make some of the text entry a bit easier. The first part of the setup includes connecting to your WiFi Network (assuming you’re using this at home or in a place with WiFi), and after that it’s a matter of signing into your preferred streaming services. Netflix and Amazon Prime are both installed as defaults, and I connected to my Prime account without issue. You can also plug in a USB device that contains images or videos, or connect a video source through the HDMI cable.

      For those that have used an Android TV box, the manner in which you operate the projector is similar. In addition to the pre-installed apps you have the option of installing many more. One of the ones I installed first was the screenshare app, so I could test using the projector as an output for my phone. It took a few tries but in the end I got it working and was able to share my photos on a big screen using the projector.

      The projector can be used to project straight on (on a wall), or straight up (on a ceiling). You can also configure it to do rear projection or inverted projection (i.e., if you hang the projector from a ceiling). In all cases, the device provides automatic keystone correction as well as auto focus. The keystone works well but I found the auto focus sometimes needed adjustment, something you do with the remote.

      This is not a 4K projector but rather an HD projector. I can’t verify the 10,000:1 contrast ratio, but it’s quite visible even in a well lit room. The sound quality isn’t high-def, but it’s good for indoor use as it is relatively crisp and clear. If you are using it outdoors or with a larger audience I think you’d need to connect an external speaker either physically or via Bluetooth.

      Overall, this is a nice portable projector. The fact it comes with a fabric screen means you have everything you need to use it both indoors and outside. Therefore, if you’re in the market for a portable projector I’d put this on your list to consider.

      This projector from Himovies is the perfect starter kit for enjoying movies on a much larger screen than standard TVs. It has everything needed to get started in minutes.

      The kit comes with the projector, a wireless remote, a projector screen and cables, including a HDMI cable and AV cables. The projector itself is quite compact and lightweight. It is mostly made of plastic. The stand is a bit wobbly so it needs to be placed on a solid surface. I like that there is no external power brick. The power cable is a bit short so I recommend using an extension cord to avoid bumping into the shorter cable.

      The projector supports 1080P resolution, and this is confirmed by the various preinstalled apps (no 4K support). The unit only has a power button, so all of the configuration and navigation must be done with the provided wireless remote. There are no batteries included (the remote runs on AAA batteries). It takes only a couple of minutes to configure it, where you will need to configure a WiFi connection. The unit can automatically adjust the focus and keystone. It works surprisingly well. I did try to manually adjust those settings but I found the automatic adjustments were good already. Note that the installation defaults to settings for data collection, and I could not refuse it entirely. The user interface is not Android TV, but it has a clean look, with preinstalled Netflix, Prime Video and Youtube. I tested it with Netflix, and it worked fine without any issues.

      This projector would not replace an OLED or QLED TV in terms of picture quality, but it is much better than I expected at this price point. The image is limited to 1080P, and that is noticeable if you are used to 4K streaming. However the colors, and color temperatures can be adjusted quickly and easily to get good picture quality. It has average brightness though, so it really can only be used in dark rooms or during the evening. However, once the ambient lighting is dark enough, the colors do have a decent pop to them. The built-in speaker is decent as well. I use my home theater receiver for sound, but for presentations or casual gaming/TV watching, the built-in speaker is more than adequate. The lens area does get very warm after some use, and there is a fan to keep things cool. The fan makes noise but not much more than typical laptop fans. One bonus feature is that this kit comes with a projector screen. It has string for securing the screen outdoors too. The screen is made of cloth. If you are looking for a very decent projector at an affordable price range, then I can easily recommend this one. It is easy to setup, has decent picture color and comes with everything needed.
