Review of the razer 18 with 4080 (2024 version)
Heavy but justified by great quality material.
Screen is just great especially with hdr and local dimming on.
Speakers are good. I have a MacBook Pro 16 m1 and I’d say 70% of the time MacBook sounds better. But for podcast I prefer sound from razer which can get louder.
Fans. Ok-ish when idle. Noisy in turbo mode. I have played in balanced mode so far which gets around 10 fps less but much quieter.
Performance is great so far. I have been playing Indiana jones with path tracing and all setting to highest with dlss fg and it gets around 80 to 100 frames which is more than I expected.
Trackpad is good but it doesn’t seem to have the same haptic as my MacBook.
Haven’t tried it on battery and I didn’t buy it to use it on battery.
Best thing about it is the quality of the construction of the laptop.
